the playful ones always win

There are those who move through life
with careful hands, counting every risk
measuring every maybe
afraid to laugh too loudly
in case joy hears and leaves
And then there are the others—
the ones with grass-stained knees
sunlight in their hair
who kiss in kitchens and dance when no song is playing
who know that sorrow exists and still choose to tease the sky
They are the ones who leave notes in pockets
who turn ordinary mornings into secret celebrations
who wear tenderness like a dare
who make love feel less like falling
and more like flying with your eyes open
The world may call them reckless
but the world has always envied
those who know how to stay soft
without surrendering their spark
And in the end
when all the serious hearts
have exhausted themselves trying to control the tide
the ones still laughing in the moonlight
are the ones who were right all along—
and in the end
the playful ones always win
